Voor KKW staat gezondheid van de koi op NR 1! Je hebt immers niks aan de mooiste koi van NL als deze niet gezond is.  Naast een uitgebreide selectie van kwekers waar we in Japan zaken mee willen doen qua gezondheid gaan we verder... KKW loopt voorop op het gebied van KHV preventie. Mede daarom laat KKW van alle kwekers van koi die door KKW worden ingekocht, meerdere koi onderzoeken op het gevreesde KHV virus.

KKW gebruikt hiervoor de momenteel de meest betrouwbare methode... namelijk de ELISA methode. Bij deze methode kunnen in tegenstelling tot andere tests ook dragers worden waargenomen. (bij PCR kan alleen een een op hande zijnde uitbraak of een uitbraak worden waargenomen.

In totaal heeft KKW 30 test afgenomen. 1 test was niet uitleesbaar omdat deze  koi te weinig bloed afgaf door haar geringe formaat. Na contact met Cefas is het volgens hun niet nodig om deze koi opnieuw te testen omdat alle andere koi zeer ruim negatief zijn.

Om de betrouwbaarheid van de test te verhogen heeft KKW de watertemperatuur 2 weken voordat het bloed van de koi is afenomen, de watertemperatuur verhoogd tot 24 graden zodat eventuele KHV antilichamen zich hadden kunnen vermenigvuldigen.

Hieronder vindt u de uitslagen van de tests:

Let op!!!! Een negatieve (negative in het Engels) uitslag betekend dat de koi NIET is besmet met het KHV virus.

This is to confirm that the testing Laboratory received samples from you on 28^th March 2010 and that all testing has now been completed.

From our examination of the samples we can report the following:

Of the 30 blood sera samples you submitted 1 of the blood samples was unable to be processed however, I am pleased to report that the remaining 29 demonstrated no sign of KHV Antibodies in our testing.

You will appreciate that this report refers only to the samples and cannot be construed as an assurance that all the remaining stocks would give similar results.  We also cannot give any assurance that an infection has not occurred since the samples were taken, or will not occur in the future. It follows, therefore, that this letter should not be used to give assurances to your customers as to the health status of the stock.

If you require further clarification on any of the above please do not hesitate to contact the laboratory.  In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your co-operation.
